INTRODUCTION OFA History of Ingenuity
Humans are an ingenious species. Though we've been on the planet for a relatively short amount of time (Earth is 4.5 billion years old), modern Homo sapiens have dreamed up and created some amazing, sometimes far-out, things. Here are our top picks for the most importantinventionsof all time, along with the science behind the invention and how they came about.
The Internet
Inventor:Lawrence Roberts. In 1960s.
Internet is the invention of modern and high technology science. It provides us amazing facility of searching any information from any corner of the world by anyone. We can connect more than one computer to each other using this internet in order to easily access information from any connected computer from one place. Using internet we can send any big or small message, information very quickly within seconds to anyones computer, mobile or other digital device like tablets, PC, etc.
The Light Bulb
INVENTOR:THOMAS EDISONin 1879
Light bulbs changed the world by allowing us to be active at night. According to historians, Thomas Edison is credited as the primary inventor because he created a completely functional lighting system, including a generator and wiring as well as a carbon-filament bulb, in 1879.
Penicillin
INVENTOR:Alexander flemingIn 1928
Penicillin was discovered in 1928 by Scottish scientistAlexander Fleming.People began using it to treat infections in 1942.There are several enhanced penicillin families which are effective against additional bacteria; these include theantistaphylococcal penicillins, aminopenicillinsand theantipseudomonal penicillins. They are derived fromPenicilliumfungi.
The Telephone
INVERTOR:ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELLIN 1876
This instrument was further developed by many others. The telephone was the first device in history that enabled people to talk directly with each other across large distances. Telephones rapidly became indispensable to businesses, government, and households, and are today some of the most widely usedsmall appliances.
The Internal Combustion Engine
INVENTOR:tienne Lenoirin 1859
Acombustion engineis an engine which generates mechanical power by combustion of a fuel. Combustion engines are of two general types:Internal combustion engineExternal combustion engine
The Printing Press
INVENTOR:Johannes GutenbergIN 1440Aprinting pressis a device for applying pressure to aninkedsurface resting upon aprintmedium (such as paper or cloth), thereby transferring the ink. Typically used for texts, the invention andspread of the printing presswas one of the most influential events in the second millennium.
The Compass
Inventor:ChineseHan DynastyAbout 206 bcAcompassis an instrument used for navigation and orientation that shows direction relative to the geographic "cardinal directions", or "points". Usually, a diagram called acompass rose, shows the directions, north, south, east, andwestas abbreviated initials marked on the compass. When the compass is used, the rose can be aligned with the corresponding geographic directions.
The Nail
Inventor:Ancient egypt3400 BC
Inwoodworking andconstruction, anailis apin-shaped object ofmetal(or wood, called atreenailor "trunnel") which is used as afastener, as a peg to hang something, or sometimes as a decoration.Generally nails have a sharp point on one end and a flattened head on the other, but headless nails are available.
Inventor:circa 3500 B.C
The wheel is one of the main components of thewheel and axlewhich is one of thesix simple machines. Wheels, in conjunction with axles, allow heavy objects to be moved easily facilitating movement or transportation while supporting a load, or performing labor in machines.
