-At 4 I wanted to be a check out clerk at the
grocery store.
At 6, an oil change man.
At 8, a singer.
At 13, a renaissance faire performer.
And at 17, an auto mechanic.
However, I am going to become a
teacher.
Until 3 years ago I was resolved
against the teaching profession.
My mom is a teacher.
My dad is a teacher.
To me, teachers were overworked,
tired and frustrated.
I grew up wanting to be something
different.
I now see that, yes, teachers are all of
those things: overworked, tired,
and frustrated.
The difference between then and
now is the possibility that makes it all
worth it.
My goal and fuel as a teacher is to open
up new realms of possibility for
students.
Realms of new found excellence.
Of unexpected love and support.
Of realized importance.
Education is critical.Yet teachers merely
educate.
I don’t really want to be a teacher.
I want to be a presenter of possibilities.
