Creative IndustriesCREATIVE EMPLOYMENT OUTGROWSREST OF ECONOMY The number of creative jobs in the UK rose by 66,000 to 2.62m in 2013 as creative roles grew faster than the rest of the economy.
One in 12 UK roles is now a creative job.
Official data released by the Department for Culture Media & Sport recorded a 2.6 per cent rise in the number of creative economy jobs - defined as jobs within the creative industries as well as creative roles within other organisations - between 2012 and 2013. This compares to the average 1.6 % increase in jobs across the UK economy during the same period.
