There are four stages in Reconquista:

1. From 8th to 10th centuries.

2. 11th and 12th centuries.

3. 13th and 14th centuries.

4. 15th century.

FROM 8TH TO 10TH CENTURIES

FACTS

The Christians from the North of Iberian Peninsula created small kingdoms.

BATTLES

Battle of Covadonga in 722. This was the beginning of Reconquista.

PEOPLE

Don Pelayo, King of Asturias, defeated the Muslims in that battle.

11TH AND 12TH CENTURY

Al-Andalus was divided into small kingdoms called taifas. Muslims became weaker and Christians became stronger.

Battle of Toledo, in 1085.

Alfonso VI conquered Toledo.

13TH AND 14TH CENTURIES

FACTS BATTLES PEOPLE

Christians kingdoms united and defeated Muslims in more and more battles.

The Battle of Navas de Tolosa, 1212.

He conquered several cities and wrote important books, such as

to the Virgin Mary.

15TH CENTURY

FACTS BATTLES PEOPLEIberian Peninsula was divided into five kingdoms: Portugal, Castilla, Aragón, Navarra and Granada. The only muslim kingdom was Granada

Battle of Granada, 1492. Iberian Peninsula became christian.

Isabel from Castilla and Fernando from Aragón, los Reyes Católicos.

Thanks to Los Reyes Católicos, two important things happened

in 1492:
