STAGES OF A LESSON
Stages in a task-base lesson the teacher does not pre-
determine what language will be studied, the lesson is based
around the completion of a central task.
STAGES OF LESSON(TBL)
PRE – TASK STAGEDURING – TASK STAGEPOST – TASK STAGE
PRE-TASK
The Pre Task phasse introduces the class to the
topic and the task, activating topic-related
words and pharases.
PRE-TASK STAGE
The pre-task help the teacher to create the condition under which learning may occur.
Introduces the topic
PRE-TASK STAGE
The learners engage in activities that either help them to recall words and phrases.
THE PRE TASK The pre-task is meant to help create a
good atmosphere for learning without anxiety.
Give words and supporting sentences for students to use.
• The pre-task must supply words, phrases, ideas to support the individual student in the main task.
TASKIS DONE BY THE STUDENTS . THE TEACHER WALKS MONITORING
AND ENCOURAGING THEM
DURING -TASK STAGEPair work and smoll group work .
Introduce a surprise element .
Set a time for completing the task.
Vary the number of participants.
Tell students they will have to present a report to the whole class .

STUDENTS PREPARE TO REPORT TO THE ALL CLASS ORALLY OR IN WRITTING HOW THEY DID THE TASK ,WHAT THEY DECIDED OR DISCOVERED.
IN THIS STAGE THE STUDENTS PREPARES THE NEXT STEP´´ REPORT ´´THEY MAKE A DRAFT OF WHAT THEY WHANT TO SAY OR WRITE
Report:
Students then report back to the class orally or read the written report.
The teacher may give the students some quick feedback on the content.
Analysis:
The teacher then highlights relevant parts from the students reports.
They may ask students to notice interesting features within this text too.
POST-TASK STAGE
• The Final stage is the language focus stage, during which specific language features from the task are highlighted and worked on.
• The teacher selects language areas to practice based upon the needs of the students and what emerged from the task and report phases.
• They are allowed to focus attention more clearly on language itself.
• The students then do practice activities to increase their confidence and make a note of useful language.
• Feedback on the learners`performance at the reporting stage may also be appropiate at this point.
