Memory Verse
• “He who overcomes shall be clothed with white garments” (Revelation 3:5)
Introduction
• Do you remember the previous lesson and verse?– If you have food and clothing, with these,
we shall be content (1 Timothy 6:8)
• What is the meaning of Philopater? – The Lover of God
• Why does he have two swords?
Philopater= Lover of God
• Marcorious was born in Rome from 2 good Christian parents: – Noah and Safena
• Kind people– Took care of the poor – Celebrated the angels esp. archangel
Michael.
• Marcorious had one focus in his life: THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST
YES LORD I WILL GO
• Marcorious was a soldier in the army when he was only 17 years old.
• He was courageous and strong.
• So he became a leader in the army very quickly.
Those who are with us are more than those who are against us.
• Emperor Desius, was scared when he saw the berbers coming against Rome.
• St. Marcorious :– “Do not be afraid , because God will destroy
our enemies and will bring us victory.”
• The lead the army against the Berbers.
The sword of Light• During the war the
angel of the Lord appeared to St. Marcorious dressed in white cloth and full of light.
• The angel had a sword of light with him in his hand.
Do Not Forget the Lord• The angel gave St. Marcorious the
sword of light and told him:– “ Do not be afraid, God has sent me to
help lead you to victory.”– “When you overcome your enemies,
remember the Lord your God.”
2 swords?
• St. Marcorious took the sword from the angel.
• Now he has 2 swords:– the one he was carrying to
go to war – the sword of light
• This gave him strength and power and he was able to win the war against the enemy.
Victory
• They won a great victory and the Emperor was very happy with him and gave him medals and great honor.
Memory Verse

Conclusion• God always helps and protects his
children. • He sometimes sends His angels to
help people and save his children from harm.
• St. Marcorious loved God and God also loved him and sent His angel to help him win the war.
Applications
• Search the bible for a similar story of how God sends His angels to help his children or how saints use the strength of the Lord to get Victory!
