In the past, St Patrick's Day was celebrated only as a religious
holiday. It became a public party in 1903, by the law of "Bank
Holiday”.The first Saint Patrick Festival
took place on 17th March, 1996.

It is celebrated worldwide by dressing in green and
attending parades.
St Patrick´s Day is a national holiday in Ireland. People go to church and then return home to eat a meal with their family to celebrate.

PARADES:
Celebrations in other cities around the world are also important. The largest parade on St Patrick's Day takes place in New York City.

The most famous legend about him says he expelled all the snakes from Ireland.
St Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland and built many churches.

One of the great icons of Ireland is the Irish shamrock. It is because he used it to explain with his three leaves the existence of the Holy Trinity:

It knows the same as normal but they add an ingredient that makes it change to green.
