Area of parallelogram
Today we are going to drive formula for the
circle of parallelogram
What do you mean by a Parallelogram
Parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two opposite sides are parallel
Life examples of parallelogram
Look at the picture
ABCD is a parallelogram
We can draw a diagonal to this parallelogram
Now the parallelogram ABCD is divided into two triangle ABD and BCD
We can draw the attitude h and base b of the parallelogram
h
h
b
Area of ACD = ½ bhArea of BCD = ½ bh
Area of the parallelogram ABCD is equal to the sum of two triangles
ACD and BCD
So area of the parallelogram ABC
= ½ bh + ½ bh= bh
So area of the parallelogram = bhWhere b = Base of the parallelogramh = height from base to opposite side
