Ah, the joys of spring. Flowers are blooming. Birds are

chirping. Puns are springing up around classroom

bulletin boards everywhere. (And we love them all!)

Get inspired by the inherent beauty of a season filled

with life, color and cool weather.

Here are a few bulletin board ideas to bring the best of

spring to your classroom.

Spring into the Season

Early on, children are taught the

“Golden Rule:” Treat others how you’d

like to be treated.

Put the rule into practice by honoring

good deeds. Tell your students that

each person who gets “caught” being

kind will get their name added to a

ladybug, which will then be displayed

on your classroom bulletin board.

Flowers are a great way to teach children

about the importance of nourishing our

bodies – and our minds.

To reinforce this, create a bulletin board filled

with flowers (made of cupcake holders for

petals and construction paper for leaves and

stem). Then glue each child’s photo to the

center of one cupcake holder.

Once your garden is ready, surround the

flowers with tools your kids need to “grow,”

like books.

New Leaders Have Hatched!

Ask students to draw a picture of

what they want to be when they

grow up. Then, take plastic eggs,

open them and glue each half on

either side of each portrait.

Allow time to dry and hang the

portraits on your bulletin board.

When finished, it should look like

each student’s drawing is

“hatching” from the open egg.

Help children learn to sight-

read by creating a spring

“window.”

Behind the curtain, create a

spring setting filled with

butterflies, bees, clouds,

flowers, rainbows, and

more. Then, next to each

thing, write out the word

that names it.

What’s the weather like outside?

In the spring, it could be sunny,

rainy, cloudy, warm, or cold.

With the temperature fluctuation,

it’s the perfect time to teach kids

about weather – and how to

dress for the day based on the

forecast (even if that “forecast”

just comes from mom and dad).

A good book can take

you to another place

and time, just by

flipping the page.

Take your kids on an

adventure with a hot

air balloon bulletin

board theme.

No two butterflies are exactly alike.

The same is true for children.

Allow each student to use child-safe

finger paint to design a pattern on

their very own butterfly.

Then display all of the creations on

your bulletin board. Next to each

one, write the child’s name and one

special trait that makes them unique.

You’re Unique
