Although Pinterest is a new upcoming social media website, an account would reach out to a digital native audience. These people tend to be

looking for an escape of their reality and look through images that inspire them.

The account holders can save and share pins (pictures) from multiple resources onto boards

based on a criteria, e.g., similar characteristics, a theme, birthday parties, planning a vacation, writing a book, interior decorating, holidays.All these criteria's will appeal to my affluent

audience as they like to organise social occasions, create a perfect home and go on multiple holidays

throughout the year with friends or family.

Facebook is an established social media website that many people are a part of. This can reach locals in

Leicestershire who are a vital part of my target audience. These people are those looking to organise social events

with friends and see what others are getting up to in their friendship group by sharing and exploring photos.The account holders can explore images of their friends

and upload their own which links people with friends and new people that are mutual friends of others. They

can also find out about new events or places that are happening/opening in and around their local area.

This will appeal to my target audience due to their desire to create a socialite reputation and connect with others

in their local area as they have a lot of free time.

Again, Twitter is a popular social media website that many people use to get fast information on what their friends and

celebrities are up to. It creates aspirations for others and gives the public a one way personal link between them and

celebrities.The account holders can read and look at tweets that are sent to from the people they follow. With the recent developments of social media, twitter has become a vital form of marketing

for companies as they can create their own twitter account and market themselves through tweets, whilst reaching an

audience in a matter of seconds.This will be good for my target audience as they want to find

more places to visit and or restaurants to eat at, and just through hash tagging, they are able to find various topics of

conversation. This is also a very social site and will encourage them to widen their friendship circle and meet new people.

Instagram is primarily for images and then videos. Also, account holders can follow celebrities and creates aspirations through images, it creates a one way personal link between them and celebrities. The photos uploaded inspire the general public to upload their own artistic images and these may be of food,

themselves or landscapes etc.On Instagram there is the option to tell people our location and

the places you visit, it also lets businesses create their own account which would give the audience an insight into the

company through pictures and videos. This is a very effective form of marketing.

This will be good for my target audience as they can comment on images and upload their own whilst searching for local attractions and services. Being on this site will encourage followers to read the

magazine and will include pictures through the poster and magazine. I could even include the radio advert if I really wanted

to.

By associating my magazine with social media I can reach out to the audiences that use the various websites and combined will lead to an increase in sales but also it will create a bigger brad

identity. Social media will be referenced throughout all my ancillary products:

• Magazine – references on front cover and contents page, ‘tweet in to enter’ ‘mention us on your image on Instagram

• Billboard poster – bottom right hand corner will use icons and names of the magazine’s pages on the sites

• Radio advert – speaker mentions them telling audience how searching for us on Facebook, Twitter, etc. can show

them information about the magazineWith the references to social media my magazine will gain a

bigger brand identity because my target audience will be able to find the magazine anywhere, thy may even find it accidentally

through suggestions that are based on area and interests.
