I think we were discussing this before - do we want to categorize social media as a separate animal? at the moment on the website it is technically under resource repository because of Pinterest functioning in part as our former ' current listings' did. I'm happy to rethink this. at the moment in the notes, i have social media under 'current listings'

you might want to mention that the images aren't accessible separately from articles at the moment. we'd like to create an archive of images, but we need to address copyright restrictions.

I pulled this up to Slide 6 but realized that the reference to Pinterest falls outof context since we haven't explained what we are doing with it. Maybe it is better to use the slide text as notes under slide 10 but take the notes from this slide and place them under the Pinterest section?

Our social media campaigns are carried out by our interns and managed by a Social Media Manager.

We just turned on the Pinterest Analytics feature in October 2015, so have less data than for our other social media accounts.

Noting that Pinterest is a newer effort. I wanted to explain why we have zero Likes: Likes in this context works backwards from Facebook. It lists how many Pins we have favorited rather than how many Fans have liked our page. We have zero likes because we haven’t been favoriting Pins from other users yet. We will want to start doing this to improve our engagement in a similar way that following and liking content on Twitter and Facebook helps to engage our community

Should we ask Kelsey to start "liking" pins so we have more than zero likes on this slide? The zero figure may be a point of interest. And since Pinterest is relatively new to us I am comfortable pointing this out as a work in progress.

I have a few screen shots of the raw image archives. We can add a source, most were Getty, Flickr campaigns. What is your feeling about that? They are basically thumbnails from google drive. Do you have a policy for that?Noreen

I think for the purposes of this presentation we can use that. I wouldn't want to make it public in Google Gallery or anything at the moment until I'm more clear on the copyright issues/restrictions etc.

Three Main Drives

1. to promote the articles and resources of AMPS

2. to promote the events and conferences hosted by AMPS

3. to add to the wider conversation on architecture and media, politics and society

General Challenges• The Internet is a Rabbit Hole!

• Striking a balance between the different types of posts

• Initiating a conversation; engaging and growing followers

• Tie-in from Amps content to current events isn’t always obvious

• Character limits, need to be economical

• Tracking specific links, not just specific tweets

Suggestions• Use scheduling software, like Hootsuite

• Big-picture approach: use materials that will relate to AMPS content in a broader way

• Paired content: external link and relevant AMPS content

• Five external posts for each internal one

Challenges for Interns• Knowing the themes and content of AMPS materials

• Learning to use the social media platforms and tools

• Measuring the effectiveness of each post

• Getting into the head of the audience

Suggestions for Interns• Provide a clear training document

• Keep communication lines open; offer to review suggested content

• Use Google Docs, email or another shared forum for discussing prospective content

• Praise interns for their efforts, discoveries, etc.

Opportunities

• Utilizing available resources, analytics

initially i shortened these, but then I realized they might be direct quotes. If they are, I suggest using quotation marks which I think would be a nice touch and we can mention the interns by name. If they are not quotes we can shorten it on the slide and use these longer bullet points in the notes. We should probably mention Ted and Kelsey by name at some point in the presentation
