The smudge tool is effective when removing blemishes or blending one object into another. Here I will be removing a blemish using the smudge tool. The smudge tool is set to 30 px, which is large enough for the area I shall be

covering. Over-use of the smudge tool can result in a flattened image.

1. I selected the smudge tool from the left toolbar. I had to press and hold to open

the drop-down menu where

this tool could be selected.

2. This is the original blemish. The harsh red colour is too distracting for the image.

3.I hovered over the area with the smudge

tool selected, and whilst holding down the left mouse button, gently moved the brush from left to right and in a circular motion. This removed the blemish, 'blending' the

colours.
