Page 1: Sleep

I watch the sunset fading away,Lighting the clouds with sleep. And as the evening closes its eyes,I feel your presence near me.

For you are always close to meFollowing all my ways.May I be always close to youFollowing all your ways, Lord.. . .

I watch the moonlight guarding the night,Waiting till morning comes. The air is silent, earth is at restOnly your peace is near me.Yes, you are always…

I watch the sunrise lighting the sky,Casting its shadows near. And on this morning bright though it be,I feel those shadows near me.

But you are always close to meFollowing all my ways.May I be always close to youFollowing all your ways, Lord.

I watch the sunlight shine through the clouds,Warming the earth below. And at the mid-day, life seems to say:I feel your brightness near me.For you are always . . .

Good night!

Page 14: Sleep

Thank You, God, for the body You have given me. Most of the time I take my health for granted. I forget how blessed I am. I forget that this body of mine, with all its imperfections is a gift from You.

Help me, God, to care for my body. Teach me to refrain from any action that will bring harm to me. If I consider a self-destructive habit, fill me with the strength to conquer my thoughts.

Lead me to use my body wisely, guide my every limb, to perform acts of compassion and kindness.

I thank You, God, for creating me as I am. Amen.
