Magazine Logo (SS)

Project Description:

To produce a new magazine front cover and double page spread for a new music magazine in the UK and America, called ‘Simply Sound’ and ‘Simply Key’

Photographer:

Serena Keogh will be taking the images for my magazine(me). My photo is going a image of will, I have chosen to use will as he best fits into

my music magazine. Technical Codes –I used a medium close up shot, in order to portray his facial

expressions, which, connote to my music genre and some of the artists I will be featuring.

Lighting – high key Post Production – I told him to not smile, as my magazine of inspiration the

artist isn’t smiling.

Model Requirements:

“SIMPLY SOUND”When coming up with a name for my magazine I wanted to make sure that my magazine masthead is eye-catching to the reader, I have come up with a name for my magazine ‘Simply Sound’ the reason for choosing this particular name I decided to reflect my masthead on my logo, by this uit is going to be simple but eye-catching. I have chosen to call my magazine ‘simply sound’ because my magazine is simply going to based round music which creates a ‘sound’ as well as this some people use the word ‘sound’ as describing something which is good.

Unit 13 – Planning and Pitching a Print based Media Product – Photo-shoot PlanAt first, I decided to have two female models, on my front cover and DPS as they were very similar looking to Arianna Grande and Beyoncé, although I decided to change this as I wanted my star artist to appeal to both genders, and I felt that having too females on my front cover would only really appeal to the female audience and not the male.So then I decided to use to males for my front cover and have them modeling as the artists/rappers “Krept and Konan” as both female and male like these artists, although when it came to creating my front cover and DPS I didn’t like the way the image looked with two people in the image, so then finally I decided to change my image to just one person and using the “Krept” interview, I prefer having just the one person on my front cover and DPS, as It draws the reader in and keeps the focus on the image.Reference images and ideas:

I found my inspiration, for this from a few magazines such as Q music magazine and we love pop magazine.

My models are going represent how fun, the magazine is and how up to date it will be each month.

Wardrobe and Look:

Their clothing is going to be very up to date and fit in with the 2015 fashion, I have also decided that they are going to be smart casual as this fits the idea of my magazine.

For my first idea, with the girls their clothing was very up to date, with clothing from Misguided, and Topshop, their facial expressions are pouty, and happy which connotes to my first magazine of inspiration (we love pop)

My second images, with the two males, their style is close to some rap artists, their facial expressions are serious which connotes the artists which will be featured in my magazine. Their clothing is also up to date, from shops like topman, asos, River Island.

Hair and Make up:

The hair on my two models will be up in a ponytail as i don’t want their hair covering their faces, as when on the magazine I want the reader to be able to see their faces clearly. When I comes to make up they are just going to be quite natural looking, although their eyebrows are going to be very defined as the eyebrows on the models makes their face pop and defines their face even more.

The models I am going to use, one is average in height, and the other model is slightly taller, I am doing this as it creates a good contrast for the magazine and also appeals to anyone.
