Heunginjimun

literally "Gate of Rising Benevolence“

Also called Dongdaemun (Great East Gate)

one of the The Eight Gates of Seoul in the Fortress Wall of Seoul

First built by King Taejo (1398)

Renovated in 1453 and rebuilt in 1896 (because of acid rain)

Famous for big market (Gwangjang sijang)

There’s a river near the Heunginjimun called Cheonggyecheon
