Overview

Following on from the lecture where we determined the need to develop a sustainable consumption growth model for the CGI. Today’s seminar we are going to take a holistic look to determine how the ‘triple bottom line’ view can work to enhance the success of an organisation operating in the CGI.

We will look at each of the 3 perspectives and work to convince a board of directors the value of each in delivering organisation success.

Ultimately, it will be the board that will decide if they are convinced of the arguments and what recommendations they will move forward.

Structure of the seminar: Pre-work

As part of the pre-work you all will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will be assigned one of the three elements of the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) with the final group acting as the board of directors (BoD).

During the course of the week, each group will have to come up with key arguments for why their element of the TBL contributes to the success of the organisation. In addition, you should come up with key questions for the other groups to critique their elements contribution.

The BoD are required to research all aspects of the TBL and be prepared with examples and hard questions on the impact of each element on organisation success.
