What can we

do to improve it?

Why is so essential

?

What is it?

Page 3: Self Esteem

Self-Esteem Significance

It comes from a Greek word that means

“reverence for self”

Self Element:•Beliefs

•Attitudes•Values We embrace about

ourselves

Esteem Element:

It portrays the value one gives

oneself

Page 4: Self Esteem

In other words, self- esteem is not:

• Singing your own praises, but more knowing you are enough worth.• Thinking you are faultless – since not a soul is – but recognizing you are worthy of being loved and accepted.

Identify your Abilities and Skills

• When we are able to focus on our outstanding qualities, we learn to love and accept ourselves.

• By writing a listing of your abilities and skills you will be capable to realize of your enormous value and importance.

• If you face some trouble preparing the list, ask your friends to assist you with it.

• The benefits of this exercise will surprise you. You will discover many other talents you were not aware of.

Accept your body no matter what

• To accept your body independently of its size, color or shape is one of the most critical steps in order to get a healthful self esteem.

• If you feel concerned in relation to your size or weight, then you can visit to a doctor to be sure everything is all right.

• In addition, you may ask professional support such as nutritionists or personal trainers, for them to assist you to feel comfortable with your health and appearance.

• Keep in mind that your body is an exclusive and irreplaceable sample that makes a distinction among you and the rest of the world.

Stop yourself when hearing disapproving comments in

your mind• Once, Mahatma Gandhi said: “A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes”.

• When you allow the access of harmful voices to your head you give them the power to bring discouragement, depression and further negative feelings that therefore, will turn you down.

• What we need in these cases is to be firm against destructive thoughts by stopping them immediately.

• To avoid pessimistic conversations is another useful tool to keep away all these unconstructive comments, as well.

What I mean is…Of course, life does not consist on

feeling content and comfortable all the time.

Being up and down during our journey is something normal, what is abnormal is to feel that you are not worthy of love and acceptance.

When you are able to acknowledge your great value it becomes your source to get the courage to undertake new projects and the strength to believe in yourself.

Furthermore, when we have a good self esteem, it empowers us to make the right decisions in our living.

Do you ever feel like a plastic

bagDrifting through the wind,

wanting to start again?

Do you ever feel, feel so

paper thin

Like a house of cards, one

blow from caving in?

Do you ever feel already

buried deep?

Six feet under screams, but

no one seems to hear a thing

Do you know that there's still

a chance for you

'Cause there's a spark in you?

You just gotta ignite the light

and let it shine

Just own the night like the

4th of July

'Cause baby, you're a

firework

Come on, show 'em what

you're worth

Make 'em go, oh, oh, oh

As you shoot across the sky

Baby, you're a firework

Come on, let your colors

burstMake 'em go, oh, oh, oh

You're gonna leave 'em falling

down

You don't have to feel like a

waste of space

You're original, cannot be

replaced

If you only knew what the

future holds

After a hurricane comes a

rainbow

Maybe you're reason why all

the doors are closed

So you could open one that

leads you to the perfect road

Like a lightning bolt, your

heart will blow

And when it's time, you'll

know

You just gotta ignite the light

and let it shine

Just own the night like the

4th of July

'Cause baby you're a firework

Come on, show 'em what

you're worth

Make 'em go, oh, oh, oh

As you shoot across the sky

Baby, you're a firework

Come on, let your colors

burst

Make 'em go, oh, oh, oh

You're gonna leave 'em falling

down

Boom, boom, boom

Even brighter than the moon,

moon, moon

It's always been inside of you,

you, you

And now it's time to let it

through

'Cause baby you're a firework

Come on, show 'em what

you're worth

Make 'em go, oh, oh, oh

As you shoot across the sky

Baby, you're a firework

Come on, let your colors

burstMake 'em go, oh, oh, oh

You're gonna leave 'em falling

down

Boom, boom, boom

Even brighter than the moon,

moon, moon

Boom, boom, boom

Even brighter than the moon,

moon, moon

Finally, I want to share this song with you:
