Type of Documentary
• School For Stars is mainly a docusoap as it follows particular characters in detail, it also has interview with the dancers and a voice over.

• Dance• Dreams• Hopes• Passion• Glamour• Fame• Fun• Friendship
Narrative Structure
The way the information is given to us. This documentary shows the students getting ready for a big performance, the hard work and struggle some of them have to go through to get to be the best.
• Rule of 3rd shot when interviewing the students.
• Hand Held Camera to take the footage of the dancers training.
Camerawork
Mis-en-scene
• Bright lighting due to being in a dance studio most of the time
• Training outfights, leggings, short tops, jogging bottoms
• Not much makeup while they are training but bright bold makeup for performing
• Hair neat and tidy, normally off the face.
• Dance music• Singing by students• Chattering off students after
practice
Sound
Editing
• Pace, this is the fast or slow way editors edit footage together, so it is fast pace when showing a routine in practice but slow when interviewing students.
• Cut transition is where the editor decides to cut the take of footage and place another piece in.
• Cut away (A Roll, B Roll) is where the editor cuts away from one thing to something completely different or is in relation to what someone has just said in the footage beforehand

• This means it has already been filmed and the editors have chosen to use it.
