Supplemental Instruction (SI)
• For harder classes, Supplemental Instruction offers help for troubled students.
• FREE!
• ½ to 1 ½ letter grade higher.
• SI Sessions are held at different times through out the week depending on your class.
– And on Final Exam week SI Leaders provide final review lessons to help students study better.

Mastering College Level Coursework
• “Mastering College Level Coursework”
-seminar for new college students

SARC Learning Fairs
• Each fall and spring SARC provides UCF students with a learning fair.
• The purpose of the learning fair is to make students aware of all the different types of academic services available to students on the UCF Campus.

- Nope! Can come anytime offered.
2. “How can I get help with study skills if I can’t make an Academic Success Workshop?”- No problem SARC is fairly compliant to students needs. - Dr. Ana Mack-call to make an appointment

- No, UCF has a Math Lab and a Writing Center.

• This was an interview held among the group members and an employee graduate student at UCF. She gave us permission to paraphrase her responses, for the purpose of this slide show presentation.

SARC Interview with Marissa Corrente
• How can SARC assist a student with their study skills?-SARC offers a one-on-one consultation, SI sessions, peer
tutoring, and diagnostics.
• How often are Study Sessions held?– Depending on the semester and course, it varies. Although
an updated schedule can be located on the SARC website.
• What are Satellite Tutor Labs?– This feature allows SARC to extend its assistance to sister
branches located on different campuses. In addition to online tutoring labs.

• Do our first year Academic Advisors have any correlation to SARC?– Yes, the first year academic advisors who assisted with the
selection of classes during orientation are also the people who teach the workshops offered by SARC.
• What is a study skill diagnostic? – It is an online assessment, that highlights a students strengths
and weaknesses as it pertains to study skills and time management.
• How does SARC effect students development throughout college ?-Utilizing SARC early in a student’s college career can provide the
student with a sturdy infrastructure of time management, study skills, and goal setting/achievement.
