– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.

– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.

– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program

– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.

– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.

– Present Operational Status:

• Number of Schools Operational: 250

• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu

• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 32,000

Introduction

About the Community• Geographical Location:• SATYA BHARTI GOVT. PRIMARY SCHOOL SALGAWALI is

situated in the east and has 5 km distance from Achrol [small town] which is placed on the NH 11C,in the north and has 30 km distance from jaipur.

– All peoples depend on agriculture and labour to survive.

• Cultural Background:All peoples belong to hindu religion.and they are so conscious for their traditions. males put on DHOTI –KURTA and females put on LAHANGA-ODANI.

– They are uneducated. population explosion ,child marriage and many types of social problems are common in their social system.

• Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village:satya bharti school is providing quality education to children of poor families. It works specially for girl child education as well as welfare of society.

• Participation in ‘Design for Giving’ School Contest:we want to remove above social problems from community and every member is working for it.

– We choose child marriage is very common problem of our community.

• Mostly girls got married between the age of 14 to 16.

• It is a tradition in Rajasthan.

• People are know the low regarding this act but following this myth without knowing the actual reason why it is restricted by the govt. of india.

We ‘Felt’:

When we observed their problems at various occasion. we decide to bring the awareness about child marriage.

We know that this not a easy task and it may be go against us because these peoples are very conscious with their personal issues. Then we decided to do it with the help of our little soldiers without any worry about the result.

We ‘Imagined’:

• First of all we designed a plan to get our objective and discussed with the participants of this activity.

• A Community meeting for create a awareness on the issue.

• Awareness rally to aware the community members about demerits of child marriage.

• Role play.

We ‘Did’:

• First time community member realize that child marriage is effect the whole life of a person.

• It effects the health of person.

• People are now took oath for avoiding marriage until 18 of girl and 21 of boy.

Now we are feeling so happy & satisfied and ready for next step.Our community gave full support to us and after that we are feeling motivated & energetic.

Experience of Community Members & Teachers:

• Teachers and community members felt that it is the dangerous problem for our social system.

• Every person promised that he/she will try his best to remove this problem from the society.

• Teacher’s are now really making understands to students that these type of social evils can be removed by education and the efforts of new generation.

• We will do more publicity to get our objective and arrange some meetings with ANMs, Doctors and the Sarpanch of the village.

• We will introduce the act in which the early child marriage has been restricted by the govt. of india.

• Life skill training in school.

• We will focus on other problems like chiltd marriage, diseases prevention.etc.
