The Society for Army Historical Research NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Lieutenant General Sir Barney White-Spunner KCB, CBE President of the Society cordially invites all members to attend its 2015 AGM to be held on Wednesday 29th April, in the superb setting of The East India Club, 16 St James’s Square, London SW1Y 4LH. Our Patron, HRH Field Marshal the Duke of Kent, KG has graciously agreed to attend the event and will present the prizes. (Please note that the Dress Code will be Lounge Suits with ties, or equivalent). The Club is roughly equidistant and 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly Circus, Green Park and Charing Cross Underground Stations. The programme of events is as follows: 1630 - 1700 Members assemble, light refreshments available in the Rugby Room 1700 - 1745 AGM followed by Briefing of Members re evening event 1745 - 1800 Members take a comfort break whilst the Rugby Room is re-set for the Lecture 1800 - 1910 Lecture by Professor Brendan Simms “Was Waterloo a German Victory: the Battle for La Haye Sainte and its legacy” 1920 - 1945 Essay Prize Awards and the Templer Award Ceremony in the East India Room 1950 - 2100 Reception (finger buffet and wine) and depart.
