Rob Legato discusses how to create „awe‟. Whether he is recreating it from events in human history (Apollo 13) or conjuring something new up organically.

He explains what we react to as humans that stirs up the feeling of awe. To create awe on the screen, he shows you not what the event actually is like, but what you want it to be like.

Rob gives an example of when he worked on “The Titanic” movie footage.

Using various video examples throughout the presentation

The speaker could have been more visibly excited during certain parts of the presentation. Despite his humor, he had a consistent dull tone throughout his talk.

Rob Legato made sure to use “eye opening images” when he showed footage from movies he worked on.

I learned that saying an occasional joke throughout a presentation is a good way to keep people paying attention.

Rob even made fun of himself throughout the presentation a couple of times to lighten the mood.

Both Have a Sense of Humor on Stage

Sir Ken Robinson‟s talks are almost political the way they discuss the need for education reform.

Both are CREATIVE individuals (despite the school systems the grew up in)

Both use a lot of imagery to get their points across

Showing off your accomplishments during your presentation can serve to keep people interested in you as a person. Doing so will make the audience want to hear what you have to say.
