Specifics

MitochondriaThe red “furnaces” (cell structures) where respiration occurs.

The process by which cells (all cells) breakdown food (usually sugar) to produce ATP.

Cellular Respiration

How does it happen?

Organisms breath in oxygen which is used to breakdown food (sugar) in order to produce fuel (as ATP) which allows them to live. CO2 and H2O are waste products.
