Having all projects in a centralized

location

• Every Chapter has a bank account with the National Office • We prefer that you spend and deposit with this bank account.• If you do, we’ll track your finances for you.

• Chapters must hold $500 in this account for the beginning of the year.

• Participants can be reimbursed from this account.• Periodic transfers to this account are required.

• All project grants are made from this account.

To get reimbursed, students must present:• A receipt for the purchase of the item.• The name and date of the venture for which it was used.• The name, email address, phone number and physical

address of the person seeking reimbursement.• Their preferred method of reimbursement (check, electronic

transfer).

• Requests may be presented:• Via email to chapters@nourishinternatioanl.org• Via snail mail to 109 N. Graham Street Suite 203, Chapel Hill

NC 27516• Via the Nourish website.

Resources and timelinesVolunteers must present all of the following information.

Larger expenses can be covered by:• An Advancement — a check sent directly to the vendor.• Invoices — having the bill sent directly to us.

• Petty cash is provided for walk up buyers.• $100 cash taken out at beginning of year to keep in

lockbox for change.• Anything above $100 needs to be deposited into an

account immediately.

• Chapters using on-campus accounts must transfer funds and report transactions monthly.

Resources and timelinesThe Finance system is flexible for the needs of your Chapter.

• Nourish is a 501 c 3 non-profit.• This means that the IRS gives us our right to

exist and can audit us.• If all money raised in Nourish’s name does not

make it to our bank account, if improper reimbursements are made and if complete information is not transferred, we risk our right to exist.

• Because of this, we will not tolerate mistakes here.

Having proper finances is essential to our success.

• It is expected that the majority of the money you raise will come from Ventures.• If you have any relationships with Foundations

or corporate donors that could be National, let us know.

• Letter writing campaigns should not be the focus of Chapter activities.

• Donations to your Chapters project can be made:• Online through our online giving portal.• By mail to our National Office.

• Student travel can be funded:• Through grants from Universities (we can help

with this!)• Using our tax-status to raise donations.
