Why I Chose Acoustic Pop

I chose the genre Acoustic Pop because it is a popular genre with many famous artists who create music within it. It is widely-recognised and therefore has a big market for new up-coming artists.

Definition of Acoustic Pop

Of, relating to, or being a musical instrument, arrangement, or performance that does not feature electronic amplification or modification; (Pop Music) (of a performer or performance of popular music) using acoustic rather than electric instruments.

Commonalities in Acoustic Pop Magazines

Acoustic Pop Magazines usually have a plain background on the front cover, with a mid-shot of a solo artist, or a full-body shot of a group or band. Sometimes they would use a full-body shot of a solo artist in order to include an accessory such as a guitar.

More Commonalities

The artist or artists on the front cover usually have quite a docile expression on their faces which is also reflected in their music.

What to include on my Front Cover

On my front cover, I should include plain colours in the background and clothes of the artist, and also have an ‘artist’ who has a relaxed pose and expression. I should have the artist/s where smart-casual clothes such as a shirt and skinny jeans.
