The name of this sculpture is Crucifix in the Cathedral of Seville and it is made by Juan Martinez Montañés.

He excelled in the art of wood carving, and sculpted mainly wooden crucifixes and religious figures. This one was also painted. It was carved directly from wood. The purpose of this sculpture was a religious figure as you can tell from the work he done and shows Jesus dying on the cross for our sins.
