America

Coastal Range
Region
The Coastal Range region stretches from the coast of Washington to California.
Rugged mountains and valleys are the Coastal Range’s physical features.
Fun Facts:
Hawaii is located in the Coastal Range region!
Los Angeles is inside of the Coastal Range region too!
Disney Sea, Disney World, and Universal are also located in the Coastal Range!
Basin and Range Region
Basin and Range mountains rise abruptly and steeply, and the valleys are very low.
Death Valley is the lowest point in the United States Of America (282 feet below sea level) and is a very hot, dry desert. Many people die in Death Valley.
The Basin and Range Region goes from the middle of Washington, through most of Colorodo, part of Idaho, half of California, all of Nevada and Arizona, and part of Utah and New Mexico.

Rocky Mountains
Region
The Rocky Mountains are new, unhikable mountains that stretch from most of Idaho, part of Montana, and down to all the way through the middle of Colorado.
The Rockies (a nickname for the Rocky Mountains) is the one of the most major mountains ranges in the world!
Great Plains Region
The Great Plains have flat grasslands that gradually increase elevation westwards.
The Great Plains stretch from North Dakota all the way down to Texas.
There is low rainfall but lots of cattle in the Great Plains.
The Great Plains are known for their grasslands.

Interior Lowlands Region
Grassy hills, many rivers, broad river valleys, and rolling flatlands are the Interior Lowland’s main physical features.
