Dr Rob Appleyard is a Senior Lecturer in Radiotherapy and Oncology at Sheffield Hallam University.  His main research interest lies in the role of simulation-based education (SBE) approaches in education and practice, in particular exploring how virtual reality environments might lead to improved outcomes.  This particular study is looking to determine how SBE can be best used to prepare pre-registration radiotherapy students for their initial clinical practice and will underpin subsequent evaluation on its effectiveness.

Catherine Holborn is a Senior Lecturer in Radiotherapy and Oncology at Sheffield Hallam University. Catherine has a keen interest in prostate cancer and is the course leader for the MSc Prostate Cancer Care. Catherine has a particular interest in the impact of continuing education, on both the healthcare professional involved and importantly on the outcomes and experience of the patients and their families receiving care.

Laura Pattinson is a senior lecturer and the course leader for the BSc Radiotherapy course. Laura's research interest are focused on public health in Radiography and the wider AHP workforce. Laura has recently been awarded a CoRips project on the topic of smoking cessation and is 1/3 rd of the AHPs4PH team and is leading on the public health advocates scheme. Laura commenced her PhD studies in October 2016 studying the experiences of patients with severe mental illness and cancer.

Professor Heidi Probst qualified as a therapeutic radiographer in 1987 and spent 14 years as a clinical radiographer in the NHS. Heidi moved to Sheffield Hallam University as a senior lecturer in 2001 and is now a professor of Radiotherapy and Oncology. Heidi's clinical research interests are in radiotherapy for breast cancer and she also has an interest in e-learning , technology-enhanced learning and workforce development.
