Installed! Installed!
Radians School, in its efforts to continue to enrich an extremely rigorous academic curriculum has invested heavily in a
new computerized State-of-the Art LED Professional Stage Presentation Lighting System. The institution is
strongly committed to giving our students a strong, complete education, including the arts. The new lighting system,
which comes at a hefty cost, gives our students a new tool with which to develop and grow. Students can work in an
audio-visual squad, obtaining experience in the field of communications and production. Along with the already
strong Fine Arts Program at the school, students will begin to learn about the technical aspect of preparing
presentations. Once again, Radians School is leading the way in avante-garde student education.

At left, our new computerized lighting system will take school
presentations to a whole new level of sophistication. Select students will
be taking an audio-visual course to learn to run the lighting systems and,
perhaps, find an interest in a whole new career. Once again, Radians
School is increasing its offerings to better prepare our students for life
in the real world.
One of the most successful and influential programs which is offered to our high school
Senior students, is the Internship Program. This unique program has been running for more
than 10 years under the direction of our school’s Guidance Counselor, Prof. Wanda Berríos.
The program allows students to intern in a profession or career of their interest where
they learn first-hand what the daily life of their career choices is like. Students learn to
work in the real-world work place scenario; this experience gives them the opportunity to
determine if this is what they would truly wish to study. Among the various internships
offered each year are hospitals, veterinary clinics, law firms, business offices, restaurants, TV
stations, fashion designers, the Fine Arts Center, pharmacies, chiropractors office, physical
therapy clinics, scientific research labs, schools, governmental offices, among others.
Radians School is one of the few schools successfully running this type of internship for
Seniors. Students and parents, as well as employers, have reacted very positively to the
program and look forward to participating in it. Once again we can effectively state (and
statistics demonstrate) that Radians School is the leader in preparing our students for fu-
ture success.

As part of the celebration of the National Chemistry Week: "Energy: Now and Forever”, the American
Chemical Society (ACS) Chapter of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), Rio Piedras, invited the Chemistry
course (11th) to their Open House on October 23, 2013. Middle and high school students visited the scientific
research facilities of the UPR, Rio Piedras campus. Students had the opportunity to visit some of the laboratories
of the Facundo Bueso building, guided by one of our student graduates, Francisco Martinez, who is a Chemistry
student in UPR, Rio Piedras. The activity ended with the "Magic Chemistry Show" at the amphitheater of the
Faculty of Natural Sciences.
During the activity our eleventh grade students donated items for children. This was part of the National
Chemistry Week activities carried out nationwide. Students of the ACS Chapter, Rio Piedras, collected the items
and then items were given to charity. Radians School students learn the virtues of sharing and compassion
by being involved in these activities that are educational, both academically and humanistically.
On November 12, 2013 our American Chemical Society Chem Club participated of a tour through the facilities
of the Natural Sciences building of the University of Puerto Rico in Cayey, including its laboratories. The Chem
Club was invited by the students’ organization called “Círculo de Química” of the aforementioned University.
The Chem Club members also participated in some chemistry-based demonstrations developed by the members
of this organization. Our students demonstrated a keen interest in the scientific experiments.

High School Students Attend Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico Open House The Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico invited our 11th grade and the SHPE Jr. (“Society of Hispanics
Professional Engineers”) to its Open House on February 20, 2014. Our students received information and
orientation of the different academic opportunities offered by the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. They had
the chance to visit the research facilities, robotics laboratories and design laboratories. Our students also
received conferences from different departments such as: industrial engineering, interior design and architecture.
By working as volunteers in the High School Student Red Cross, our students
demonstrate the many virtues taught by Radians School. They extoll the virtues of
service, empathy, caring, and giving to others who are less fortunate, or who have
been victims of natural disasters. We applaud the leadership these students embody and
are thankful to the school staff who guide them along the way. The Faculty advisor for the
High School Red Cross is our very own Prof. Miguel Gonzalez.
