Leadership is followership . A good leader leads but does not push . Managers who possess the quality of guiding & directing the subordinates under inspired impulses can be called BUSINESS LEADERS….
Definition – According to George Terry , “ Leadership
is the activity of influencing people to strive for mutual objectives .”
Leader : Born or Made

leaders . It is the gift of nature.

qualities right from younger days.
On the other hand , leaders are made also .

DEMOCRATIC STYLE
SUITABLE WHEN :
1.] PURPOSEFUL PARTICIPATION OF EMPLOYEES IS REQUIRED ..
2.] SUBORDINATES ARE MATURED & ENLIGHTENED
3.] BUSINESS UNIT IS LARGE WITH PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT STYLE ..
Democratic style of leadership is constructive & sympathetic towards subordinates….
Laissez-faire style
This is free style of leadership where
subordinates are given freedom .
SUITABLE WHEN :1.] Subordinates are capable mature & responsible.2.] Leadership is given only for a short period.3.] Subordinates are educated.
BUREACRATIC STYLEThis leadership style is noticed in the case of government
departments. It is not effective in business body .
SUITABLE WHEN :
1.] Business unit operates like a government .
2’] Greater importance are given to rules , procedures & formalities.
