What kind of media institution might distribute your media

product and why?

Townsquare Media I think that the best media institution which

could publish my magazine is ‘Townsquare Media’. This is because it is a very popular and fairly modern media institution. (Founded in 1996). Also, it has published a very well known rap magazine ‘XXL’. XXL presents the same genre of music as my magazine, which is rap. This means that the institution would have experience in that particular field. Because they have experience and are a well established company, many consumers would be interested and encouraged to buy the magazine. This would result in my magazine being more successful.

Bauer Media Group Bauer media group is another very popular media

institution. This institution is popular for publishing the Kerrang and Q magazine. Although this company publishes magazines which are not the same genre as mine, it is a very well established publishing company and this would make it more likely for my magazine to become successful as consumers will be encouraged to buy products which have come through the same media institution as other very successful magazines.

Best Option In my opinion, the best publishing company for my rap magazine

would be Townsquare media because they already have experience in publishing rap magazines and therefore there is a higher chance of it being better quality. Although Bauer media is more popular and better established than Townsquare media, it does not specialise in the genre of music than I have chosen. This could result in my magazine turning out to be poorer quality because the institution does not have much experience in that particular field.
