HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE

CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION

STAGES?

Question 4

INTRO

We used many different media technologies in the

construction and research, planning and evaluation

stages.

In the construction and research, planning and

evaluation of our media product I used media

technologies such as InDesign, Photoshop, cannon

HD camera, studio lights and cannon 1D camera.

INDESIGN

I used in design for the construction of my poster and

magazine front cover.

I think this program helped me get the highest quality

products as it allows you to go into more smaller details and

give a professional result.

I found was also much easier to use and apply what you

want on the page than other programs I have used in the

past to do such products such as pages and Photoshop.

PHOTOSHOP

I used this program to edit my pictures that would be on my poster

and magazine front cover.

It was simple to use once you go the hang of it and allowed me to

change aspects of the photos I didn’t like or to improve the.

For example I used the spot healing brush to remove anything on the

picture I didn't’t like, such as imperfections, spots flyaway hairs etc.

I also used Photoshop to change the settings of the photo such as

white balance, exposure, add or remove shadows and many others.

CANNON HD CAMERA

This camera was used for filming all shots in the trailer

We used this camera by putting it on a tripod to keep it

steady during filming.

The camera is HD which allowed us to get high definition

footage, we could also change the settings on the camera

to get a better shot such as white balance and ISO which

allows more light in and makes the picture less pixelated.

STUDIO LIGHTS

I used studio lights in the studio whilst I was taking pictures of

the actor to remove any shadows from the photographs.

I also used the lights to create shadows on the actors faces to

show evil/ darkness to reinforce the idea that the trailer is a

horror film.

We used colored gels to change the colors of the lights whilst

filming in the Void this allowed us to create tension in our shots by

having deep colors and hues adding to the feeling the audience

gets when they see the void.

FINAL CUT PRO

I used final cut pro to digitally edit and cut my final

pieces of footage into one to create my trailer.

I found it quite difficult to use but gave better

more professional finishes than IMovie that I trued

to use.

It allowed me to cut my footage to what I needed

and to add transitions and text to make all my

footage come together smoothly.
