Cannibal Holocaust There are no major stars that appear in the trailer and therefore the film. This is done so that the audience can not be sure of the fate of them. Text appears at the start of the trailer to set the scene to what is about to happen. It is simple white text on a black background this not only makes it stand out but reiterates the documentary feel that the trailer has. There is music used in this trailer to set the scene and increase the tension. Low tones are used before the trailers gets going and then as soon as the cannibals appear then the music drastically changes to high pitched. This hints to the audience that something is about to happen. The pace also increases. Cuts are used between shots to link all the footage together. The found footage aspect of this trailer plays an important part in making the film both appealing and scary to the audience as it makes the audience think that the action is going to reach its pinnacle. The text also appears in red which gives connotations of blood. This hints to the audience what the film is about and the genre that it fits into if they didnt already know. Dialogue is used as well as screaming and this sets the scene of horror as screaming gives connotations of death and pain.

Focusing largely on making the audience believe the film is real

The sound used does not contain any music and this makes the trailer again seem real. There are many diegetic sounds used like the sound of running though a forest. There is also a large amount of dialog used, this is done to set the scene for the main film and entice the audience into watching the film.

Cuts are used between different shots as well as fades to link the short clips together in a way that increased the tension. The last edit fades to show the information about the film with diegetic sound which leave an impression with the audience and will make them remember the film.

The first shot that the audience see consists of text showing on the screen to set the overall scene for the trailer and movie. This insures that the trailer has the attention of the audience before starting

BWP is also a hybrid between a documentary and the horror genre. There are shots direct to the camera, and this heavy adds to the documentary feel.

The trailer quickly establishes itself as a found footage film as the first couple of shots show the text that is seen when recording video.

Cuts are used between shots to increase the tension as the shots are close together and short. This implies thatsomething is goingto happen.

There are shots within a hospital and this sets the scene for the film and gives the audience hints are locations and possible narratives that may happen in the story.

Black and white footage is used along side colour shots. This shows that some of the footage is from a previous time period than that of the other film.

Music is used to build the tension that is felt by the audience. The music increases in tempo and in pitch which increases the tension as a pinnacle to the action is expected.

This film differs from the other two as there is no text on the screen at the start explaining how the footage was found. This leaves an element of mystery.
