Hollywood films have very high budgets and use both horizontal and vertical integration to ensure their films are of the highest quality.

Unlike the British companies they have large amounts of money to spend on marketing and distribution therefore making the audience very aware of upcoming films

British films

British institutions are different to those in Hollywood as they have less of a budget to spend on important things like marketing. 5 million is often how much they have to make the film. They have to use below the line advertising using the media and posters that don’t require too much money.

What is our film?

Our film is titled ‘MINE’ as the plot is about a stalker who is planning on killing the girlfriend of an ex lover of hers. It has a sub-genre of stalker which adds to the thrilling part of the film. It has an overall realistic vibe which will mean it gets lots of audience interest due to that being a popular aspect.

Our Film

Working title is the ideal distributer as it is linked to one of Hollywood's conglomerates, Universal studios, who would help us secure the highly skilled American actors. Their films usually have a budget of 35million which would allow us to get the film well made and marketed.

If not Working title..

As a group we have acknowledged that we are a small film production company, called nightmare productions, so it is very unlikely that we would attract the Hollywood/British company working title. Instead of these it is likely that we would use smaller distributers like Warp X, film 4 and the BFI funded by the national lottery. Our film would also be sent to film festivals all over the UK.
