Narrative:

The movie is about a story of a girl who is a loner. She has no friends and the relationship with her mother is bad she hardly speak to her mother. She witness the death of her father and ever since then she has keep to herself and prefers not to talk to anyone. At the beginning the girl is shown as someone innocent a shy girl who is outcast by her peers.

At the beginning of my title sequences it is introduced with a middle shot a girl showing only half of her face with blood running down her eyes with a image of a girl next to her. This creates an enigma because it makes the audiences asked themselves why does the girl look like, why is there running down her face.

This is the opening scene of the movie Carrie

The movie Carrie 2013 links to my movie a lot because at the beginning the movie Carrie is showed as a weak and innocent girl and also harmless but at the end of the movie Carrie transform into someone strong. In my movie we see the girl with blood running down her face showing that girl has be harmed but she is smiling on most of the scene also making the audiences asking is she pain or is someone else in pain

The title sequences introduce the main character of the film. The two faces effect connotes the two sides or behaviour of the girl. The two faces also connotes the personality and symbolise idea of death, change and the girl fighting for her life as she is being taken over by a sprits.

The movie

The title sequences does introduce the main character and also crates an enigma for the audiences. The movie is about a shy girl that is outcaste by her peers and the relation with her mother is weak. In the beginning of the movie the audiences get to know that she wittiness her father but when we get to the end of the movie we learn that she was the one that killed her father. This can be a link o the movie Silent House when the girl though she was being pushed but it was just her childhood coming back to life and she remember than she kills her father. In my movie she though she witness someone killed her father but it was her that killed her father because when she was young her dad rape her and she got pregnant and her father killed the child so she killed her father because of the pain that is eating her inside. And the reason why her and her mother have a weak bond is because she grow to the her mother because her mother did not save her. In the movie we see her as she starts to become more and more evil.

Barbara Creed

The author examines the role of women in horror films challenging the dominant, patriarchal view which frequently puts the woman in the position of victim. She argues that when the feminine is constructed as monstrous, it is frequently done in conjunction with its mothering functions. The Monstrous-Feminine goes on to discuss and analyse the films Carrie, The Exorcist, Psycho, Alien and others. According to the author there are seven possible faces of female monstrosity: 1) archaic mother; 2) monstrous womb; 3) vampire; 4) witch; 5) possessed monster; 6) deadly femme castratrice and 7) the castrating mother. Creed draws heavily on the literary concept of ‘abjection’, as proposed by Kristeva, which is roughly horror derived from bodily fluids and excrements (another female-related aspect: the teaching of toiletry). In that sense, Creed does not bring any innovation, she transposes the main concepts of Kristeva’s literary feminist perspective to underpin her analysis of horror films. The horror films Creed analysed were supposed to define the female body as an alien and oppressive realm that provokes feelings of disgust or fear but the acceptance of such a statement will depend of who you are.
