Out of the people I handed my questionnaire out to, 70% of them were male and 30% were female.

100% of my participants were within the ages of 15-20 as I only handed it out to students in my year group, which therefore could mean these results would be unreliable, however my research into the genre denotes how the majority of the target readership is from a younger demographic.

Similarly to the SurveyMonkey results, a large main image was the most important feature according to my particpants. A catchy headline was the second choice, with no one caring about exclusive features.

As with the SurveyMonkey results there was a large mix of who they would like to see on the front cover. 40% would prefer to see Nikki Minaj, whereas 30% would prefer to see Eminem. In the SurveyMoneky results, 55% would have preferred to see Eminem.

70% from the questionnaire said they would prefer to see contrasting colours, 20% said bright colours. This was different to the SurveyMonkey results as the participants said they would prefer bright colours.

There was a split between the main image and a free giveaway, this was similar to the SurveyMonkey results where 40% said the image catches their attention and 20% saying the giveaway does.

The majority of people in the questionnaire stated that they would prefer an interview with an artist, however on the SurveyMonkey the majority said they would prefer both an interview and story.

Finally, most people said that they would prefer a poster to be included with the magazine, which were the same results on the SurveyMonkey. This ‘signifies’ (De Saussure) to me that I should include a poster with the magazine.
