Quadratic equation using factoring
Quadratic equation is second degree equation that comes in standard form:ax² + bx + c = 0.
Examples:
2x² = 5x + 4 x² + 5 = 0x( x + 2 ) – 10 = 0 x² + 4x = -8
•
Solve for the roots of the quadratic equation: x² - 4x – 45 = 0
• Usual listing of factors of the constant that will satisfy the coefficient of the middle term.• Equate each factor to 0; then solve for the values of x.• Then, transpose the constant to the right.
Find the roots of the following:
•x² + 4x + 4 = 0•x² + 7x + 12 = 0•x² + 8x – 9 = 0
Solve the following Quadratic Equation using factoring:
1. x² - 4x – 5 = 02. x² + 9x + 18 = 03. x² + 12x + 35 = 0
Assignment:
•Define quadratic formula.•What are the steps in solving quadratic formula.
