Nationally recognised First Aid Training Provider in IpswichOn Friday 29th May 2009 Qld First Aid Supplies & Training based in Ipswich received offi cial registration as a “Registered Training organisation” from the Department of Education & Training. As a result Qld First Aid is now able to deliver Nationally Recognised First Aid Courses. What this means is that there is now a Nationally Recognised First Aid Training provider based in Ipswich & able to issue nationally recognised First Aid Certifi cation to those needing to complete a fi rst aid course. To celebrate Qld First Aid held an offi cial launch at the RSL Club at North Ipswich on Tues 16th June. Judy Millie (Ipswich Lord Mayors Chief of Staff) was in attendance as well as Glenda Burns (Offi ce of Economic Development) Judy Millie opened the day informing everyone of the benefi ts the people of Ipswich can now enjoy when participating in a Qld First Aid Training Courses. She emphasised that only now the people of Ipswich can attend a First Aid Course without any pre-course homework requirement & the best part is that all successful participants will take their certifi cate home with them on the day of the course. Ms Millie said that up until now people from Ipswich would need to travel to Brisbane to undertake a First Aid Course if they needed their Certifi cate straight away. Garry Draper (Qld First Aid Supplies & Training Managing Director) said this is a real milestone both for ourselves & the people of Ipswich & surrounding areas as this is the only Apply First Aid Course (HLTFA301B) able to be completed in just one day which includes Perform CPR (HLTCPR201A), where there is no pre-course homework requirement, & where successful participants can take their certifi cates home with them on the day of the course.

Mr Draper said his goal is to see at least one member of every family in Ipswich trained in First Aid & said there has never been a better time for this to happen. Mr Draper said that the new Qld First Aid Training package has eliminated the two problem areas associated with First Aid Training – The pre-course homework & the delay with certifi cation. Mr Draper said getting grown adults to do homework proves to be a bigger hurdle than it is for school kids. Mr Draper added that almost every occupation & tertiary course completion relies upon having a current First Aid Certifi cate & that often timing can be vital. Participants receiving their certifi cate on the day of the course can be the difference between them getting that job they are so desperately after or missing out.

Special mention needs be given to Qld First Aid Training Manager – Amanda Petersen for putting together such a well designed First Aid Course which satisfi es all Department of Education & Training requirements, without any non-compliance throughout the whole registration process. Joyce Draper (Qld First Aid Supplies & Training Director) & the all the staff at Qld First Aid are very excited that the people of Ipswich and surrounding areas will now be able to receive the best possible fi rst aid training available anywhere without any pre-course homework requirement & the huge added benefi t of not having to wait for what can be weeks to receive their certifi cate which has up until now been their only option. Qld First Aid Supplies & Training share with our motivational lord mayor his enthusiasm for Ipswich & the exciting growth period that lies ahead & we look forward to growing together with our great city!
