Introduction
PSP Park which represents “people need a space to play” is designated for relaxing
and it focuses on nature. Water pond is the significant feature of the garden as it is the
source of life for fish and some of the plants. The fountain in the middle of the PSP
Park is the main feature which brings the melodious and trickling sound of splashing
water. The garden is surrounded by children paradise which is the playgrounds.
Therefore this is a garden and park which will bring you happiness.
Purpose
A natural water garden is designed in the middle of the park with the aim of
decreasing the temperature of the area since our city weather is hot. The pond is
decorated with some lilies and gold fish reared in the outdoor pond and middle pond
is decorated with fountain that could also avoid mosquitoes. The trickling sound from
water feature are calming, stress relieving and can really soothe a person’s frazzled
mood after a long and hot day.
The children’s playground is split up into several different sections that have
different concepts – the playground equipment section, the slide and playground
climbing nets section, the intellectual games and creativity section and the chill out
section. The park also provides adults gym facilities with proper instruction boards.
This delimitation by section is meant to split the active and passive games, so that
these two will not interfere with each other, as well as to exclude any accidents that
might happen.

Layouts and Activities
In PSP Park, the key feature is the pond fountain which is located in the
middle of it and surrounded by playgrounds. The pond is centred with a big solar
powered fountain and a small manmade island .The small island is planted with
various types of flowers and covered by grasses. The visitors can walk to the island
through across the wooden bridges or just sit on the bridges and relax while watching
the fishes and lilies.
Besides, there are two types of playgrounds for young children with age
between 3 to 6 which provides see-saw, spring rider and playground and children with
age 6 and above, providing marry-go-round, monkey bar and slide. Both playgrounds
have a common feature where they provide pergolas and benches for parents to sit on
while their children are playing.
Next, Skate Park is provided and specifically divided into 7 levels from easy
to difficult. Adult playground is the nest feature where it doesn’t actually provide
playground but exercise equipment in the area. And in the middle part, there are
pergolas and benches for them to rest and chit-chat. Each of the parts is surrounded
with jogging track for people to exercise along with bicycle track for cycling. Other
than these, there is a small hawker centre. It is a 2-levelled shop where the 1st floor is
air-conditioned while the 2nd floor is an open air area where people can enjoy the view
of the whole park. Other than that, there are evergreen climbing plants on the surface
of the exterior wall. The centre also provides services like skateboard and bicycle
rental for the people.

Concept
Malaysia consists of people from various races and religions who live
together. Therefore, we came out an idea which is having a public garden in
residential area to decrease and avoid stereotype, prejudice and discrimination among
each other. It provides an escape for city with green and complete facilities. They can
enjoy and communicate peacefully in this fun and natural garden.
In this public space, we can observe the people are having the same traits
which are loving garden and park. First, the visitors will observe and slowly start to
have short greeting between each other. When time passed, they will talk and
understand each other and thus becoming friends. In the end, they will form a group
by sharing same traits such as a group of mother will enjoy their talking on how to
take care for their children. In these ways, we can see the increasing contact between
the people which can decrease prejudice between different races and culture.
The garden and park will provide a playground for children to enjoy their
time. We prepared complete facilities such as seesaw, merry-go-round, swing set,
slide, jungle gym, chin-up bars, spring rider, skateboard, monkey bars and overhead
ladder to help children develop physical coordination, strength and flexibility as well
as providing recreation and enjoyment. All these facilities are open to everyone who
train and teach the children not to stereotype in any area and helping them to build a
healthy personality. They are playing with different types of people which will help
them to build and develop their mental framework. They will know they cannot
complete all the games by themselves because the activities like seesaw and merry-
go-round need to involve two or more people to play. For example, a Chinese child is
4
playing with an Indian child together. This social interaction will decrease their
stereotyping within Indian and Chinese. When they grow up, they will also accept
other Indian and Chinese friends in this situation. This is because these people have
been taught from childhood to build this concept in their metal framework.
Moreover, playground is the second home for children. They will learn the
ability to love and appreciate life that might sound wishy-washy in the hard world of
exam results, but love and security feed a host of qualities that great learners
need. These include the ability to be open and receptive, to be willing and to feel
connected. Meanwhile, cultivating an attitude of appreciation means being able to
enjoy the journey of learning, wonder at nature, relish a good story, feel good about
achievements, and enjoy the companionship of the classroom. All of which, in turn,
feed confidence, excitement and curiosity back into the learning loop. At this stage we
can teach children about other culture and regions with explaining to them in a
positive way.
Conclusion
PSP Park is a combination of nature and modern sport facilities. It’s healthier
than other typical parks because it contains adult gym facilities for the retired adults.
It is indeed a pleasuring space for everyone from any ages, genders and races.
