2. Knives- have used as Knives are a typical symbol associated with a psychological thriller as they have connotations of blood, death, pain and brutality. A typical representation of this would be in the famous knife scene from Hitchcock's film 'Psycho'. Knives are often used to show that somebody is going to get killed and thus it acts a common device to keep the audience engaged within this genre. Running water is often a symbol of death as it suggests the draining of life or it is often associated with blood dripping and suggests that the characters are in danger. 3. Costumes in psychological thriller are normally quite colloquial or formal as psychological thrillers convey many surreal themes so therefore using normal clothing creates the sense of realism for the characters. I have decided to dress my character in normal every day clothing to create a sense of reality for my protagonist 4. For my Psychological thriller film opening some of the props I will be using to represent my protagonist as a compulsive and obsessed with structure and order would be using the consistent pattern of three with my props to connote my characters compulsive lifestyle 5. For my film opening I aim to represent my main character as compulsive and obsessed with structure and by doing such I will be using several shots of a alarm clock changing in time to highlight my characters compulsive personality to the audience. 6. I have decided to use Medicine or pills as they can often be found as a clear indicator to a character has a psychological illness to the audience The use of props such as wipe helps identify my protagonist mental illness and also can be another indicator to the audience highlighting my characters compulsive personality
