Proposal For “The Vibe”

The magazine I will be doing will be based on music and I will be looking at music and what’s going on in the industry. The name of the magazine will be titled “The Vibe”. The name is quite simple and it fits in with this magazine, because as music is a thing that people use to get away from problems and relax, they get on a certain vibe. For the main image of this magazine cover, I will be taking pictures of one of my classmates. My classmate will be doing certain pose to make him look like a music artist and more professional for the magazine. He will also be wearing clothes fitted for the magazine cover; this would involve wearing a check shirt and jeans. The model of this magazine cover will be the main topic of the magazine as that’s why he has been chosen to represent the magazine.

The main theme of my magazine will be Music and all the other photographs I take will be linked with the idea. The front cover will include a blue background but with a blue gradient style with black text for the title. The magazine will also have yellow text for the sub-titles but also with black writing. The magazine will include a price tag and a barcode to give it more of that realistic look to it.

The magazine will have a very simple look to it and the clothes that the model will be wearing won’t be too much but will reflect on the theme. As the image will focus on giving people that intention to buy the magazine, the font will fittin with the theme and will use a font that matches with the magazine.

Equipment –

The equipment I need for my photo-shoot will consist of a camera, tri-pod and a white background. The camera I am going to use is a canon 600d (18-55mm) I will use this

camera to capture the photos I need for my magazine and the lens can take shots of close ups and wide shots. I’ve chosen this camera because it’s the best option. For the image, I will also be using a white background so the camera takes decent and clear images. The model won’t be using any props but will have a certain stance that will make him look professional and look like an artist.

Location Recce -

The following studioshoot will be one of the main places where I take photos, and I will be using this studio to take photos as it will let me capture the picture using a green screen to edit photos. The studio also involves lights, and with the photographic background I will be able to take clear photos.

Location shoot – The location shoot will be at Heath Park as this is because the photos I need I am able to capture because they will work well with the magazine I am creating. The location of my photos will be done in the studio room between the media classes, and the risk assessment should disallow any dangers to occur.

Production Schedule & Contingency Plan -

The sort of photos I will be taking in the studio of my model will be wideshots on a white background, and on the whole, it should take around 3 minutes to complete. The process will be done after school, ranging from 4:30 – 4:45, and I will

be taking quite a few pictures pf my model. I’ve also took quite a few pictures in school of a different model, and this was done in the morning at around 10:00 – 10:15am.

The studio shoot is done on the date 21.01.2015 and the model has been booked for this exact day as they have signed the contributes release forms. I should be taking photos in the studio at around 10:00 – 10:15am, and 16:00 – 16:15, and the dress code for the main model used in my magazine will be a chequered shirt, and the other model will be wearing the normal sixth form attire which looks like a normal business suit.

If the location shoot is unavailable on the day which it shouldn’t be, I would then have to switch over to the next day. Things such as bad weather won’t have an effect on my shoot, because all the photos I will be taking will be done inside. However, things such as the amount of people in my studio shoot could have a big effect as equipment could be damaged, which could cost a lot of money.

Legal and Ethical –

There will be a model which will be doing a little pose on the front cover of my magazine, and I will need their permission, and sign a form, or I wouldn’t be following the rules such as copyright. I will need permission for the location I will be using else I will be using property which belongs to someone else. If the model I am using in my photo doesn’t sign a release form then I won’t be able to use them, and do this project as it’s against the law. If my model was wearing certain clothes such as Adidas, or any other clothing brand then it would be illegal without there permission.
