Costume My front cover will be a mid-shot of a boy that fits the conventional style of someone from the rock genre. I will not be using any props for this image only costume and facial expression. His costume will be very casual (see pictures on next page and refer to mood board) but will fit the rock genre. The person I have chosen to take photos of fits the rock genre stereo type as he has long hair and a beard.

Guitar The guitar will give a sense of personally identifying (Katz uses and gratifications) with an artist as a lot of people who buy music magazines are musical themselves.

like a rock artist.Some rock artist can look quite over the top for example ‘kiss’ and ‘slipknot’ my inspiration is more of an Indy look for example ‘Paramore’ and ‘you me at six’ therefore the costumes for my double page spread will also be quite a casual look – for example beanie hat, parka coat & skinny jeans.
