Citation preview
By Sophie Boston for AS Level
Media Studies
To distribute my magazine out there into the
public I will promote it in different ways:
Other websites:
John
Lewis, BHS, big
department
stores
Fashion
websites
e.g.
H&M, New
Look, Topsh
op, Topman
Social networking
sites: Facebook,
YouTube, Twitter,
Instagram,
Soundcloud,
Blogger
Other
magazines
adverts(non
music) e.g.
Heat, Star
Create an MM
website
Mobile phone
company deals
e.g. O2
Allow work
experience at
MM Head
Quarters
I would create my own MM website just like NME, Q and Kerrang! because it would help expand my magazine further and more younger people would be interested if it was online as they could access it from everywhere as most youngsters carry around an piece of technology that allows them to access the internet. On this website I would include the following:
News
Gossip
Pictures
Artists-new and old
Competitions
Articles
Games
Merchandise Shop
MM Radio Station
Reviews
Buses and public transport are a great way to
advertise a magazine because they are
constantly ferrying people around, so not only
will the people travelling inside the vehicle
see the interior posters, flyers etc, but the
people outside e.g. Pedestrians will see them
too, on the outside of buses and bus
stops, cabs too. Public transport also tends to
travel long distances, so the bigger chance
more people will see them, especially the ones
that travel in and out of London, where it will
be more crowded.
Promoting my magazine on other websites would be
beneficial, particularly ones like fashion, because
more and more people browse online for fashion
now, so there will be a bigger chance they will see
my magazine advertised. I would have some
animation for my advert going and display some of
the features inside my magazine. The kind of fashion
websites I would want to advertise my magazine on
would be shops like H&M, Topshop, Topman, New
Look, Urban Outfitters – any kind of clothing shop
that is aimed at younger generations. I would not
promote my magazine in a shop like Next because I
don’t think my target audience’s clothing
preferences would be in there.
