N. PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT:

From my research on nosocomial infection, I have been able to design the functions and

the running of the laboratory aspects of clinical practice especially as it relates to

microbiology and microbial infection diagnosis, treatment and prevention in

hospitals and the community.

As an Infectious Diseases Specialist, I was responsible for designing the Infection

Control Program of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospitals in Osogbo and Ogbomoso to

minimize the prevalence and incidence of hospital acquired infections including

HIV/AIDS. This feat is translatable to other Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria and can form

the bedrock for the organization of National Infection Control Centre for Nigeria similar

to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States of America.

I am a member of the editorial board of four peer-review international journals and

one local journal, and a reviewer for over twenty local and international journals. I am

one of 13 contributory authors to an edited textbook of Medical Microbiology produced

locally for the training of undergraduate medical, nursing and biomedical science

students and postgraduate students in Medical Microbiology and related fields.
