Rotary Portraiture
competition
• Deadline is Tuesday 26th November• Need to enter 3 final images with captions and artist statement• Print and complete the entry form from:
http://bedworthrotary.org.uk/youth-service
• Everbody needs to email artist statement and final images on your deadline day to: [email protected]
• College to fund the best 20 entries • If there are more than 20 entries, a simple judgement will be taken
on what we feel the competition will look for.
• All prints for your sketchbook must be paid for by yourself.
Sketchbook – Final outcomes
1. Artist Statement
2. 3-4 final outcomes with captions.
3. Final outcomes need to be printed at least A4
• The amount is up to you, but the less you print the higher in quality they should be.
• For example you need to look at the quality of the lighting, exposure, camera techniques (in focus/no camera shake)
• You can print and mount your final pieces in your sketchbook or separately. If you choose to mount outside of your sketchbook ensure that you print your final images smaller (6x4 from kiosk for instance) for your sketchbook
Printing outside of your sketchbook
This is a stretch and challenge extension task
• Use a contextual basis for your ideas and include this in your sketchbook.
For example if you create a book than make sure you research someone that has created a book.
• Print from College as the print quality is much better.• Mount on mount board (available from Dario too)
Label all final prints as follows: 1. Your full name 2. Block C/B/F3. AS Photography portraiture final outcomes - 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 etc.

• Front cover – use a cover
• Whats the Title of your book?
• Artist statement as an introduction
• Captions for each image
• Photographs – sequence them in a specific order to tell a story or to maximise the best images.
