This connotes that no one I asked is willing to pay over £5. The majority would be willing to pay between £3 and £4, with 20% expecting to pay £1-£2.

These results denotes that the majority of the people that I asked, would be willing to buy a magazine once a month. 28% said they would never be willing to buy a magazine. 17% said that every week and 14% would be willing to once a year.

Is ‘star appeal’ important in helping to sell a magazine? If so why?

Overall this question connotes that ‘star appeal’ (Richard Dyer) on a magazine has a 50/50 outcome. For some people seeing their favourite artist on the front of the magazine is important and draws them in, but for others this is not the case.

These results connotes that half the people questioned said that pictures are the most important element of a magazine. News had no votes and both fashion and lifestyle blogs and articles received 20% of the votes each.

These results connote that 60% of people prefer pictures on the front of a magazine and 40% of people would prefer both pictures and writing. No one voted for just writing.

From this I can conclude that 70% of people expect a weekly magazine to have 31-50 pages and 70% expect a weekly magazine to have 31-50 pages. No one expected it to have less than 30 pages.
