I questioned 10 men and 10 women in order to get representative sample.

Page 2: Primary research

My target audience is aged 18-28 which is reflected in the graph, with the 15-19 group being the largest.

Page 3: Primary research

The largest ethnic group amongst my respondents is white British, followed by other white and mixed race. The smallest group was black African. These

results are similar to what I expected and show that I should mainly target white audience.

Page 4: Primary research

As I expected the majority of my respondents is straight. However 5 were bisexual and 4 homosexual which together forms almost half of my

respondents. For this reason I will go ahead with my initial idea to incluide LGBT plot.

Page 5: Primary research

Action is the most popular movie genre within my audience followed by comedy and drama. Adventure, the genre I would like to include in my product is third,

together with romance and thriller. These results suggest that I should use more aspects from genres like drama and action to appeal to the audience, although

sticking to the less popular genre of adventure allows me to target the niche audience.

Page 6: Primary research

Majority of my audience goes to cinema at least once a month. 7 people answered that they go to cinema once a month, 4 twice per month and 3 people

go every week or two. Only 6 people answered they go to cinema less than once a month, which means that introducing my trailer in the cinema before

other film’s screening would reach large group of my audience.

Page 7: Primary research

The main aspect that attracts my audience to a film is the actors. For this reason I need to ensure that the actor is charismatic as well as skilled in order to leave

an impression. Plotline was second most important factor attracting my audience to films while the name of the director matters the least. One quarter of my

audience answered that they are attracted to independent films which means that my initial idea of creating a trailer for an independent arthouse film would

have a decent audience interest.

Page 8: Primary research

Over half of my respondents find out about new film releases from socal media and the fewest from radio. TV is second most popular way of finding out about

new films. This means that showing my teaser trailer on TV, sharing it on youtube and creating fan profiles on social meda websites would be the best

way of promoting the film.

Page 9: Primary research

My audience answered that their favourite music genre is RnB followed by Hip Hop, Rock and House, the least popular is Metal. I will consider this when

creating the soundtrack for my trailer, however personally I am not keen on RnB and Hip Hop and I do not want to use these genres in my trailer. For this reason I

will make a use of second most favourit genres – Rock and House.

Page 10: Primary research

Only one person from my audience doesn’t have Facebook. Second most popular was Youtube followed by Twitter and Instagram. This shows which social meda should be used when promoting the trailer and targetting my

audience.

Page 11: Primary research

Socialising with friends is the most popular free time activity, followed by watching TV and listening to music. This confirms my previous results,

sugggesting the means I should use to promote my product. Music is also an important part of my audience’s lives, therefore I need to make the soundtrack

very strong and appealing.

Almost three quarters of my respondents are students with 6 of them working while studying. Quarter of my respondents are full time employed and only on

person works part time. This could mean that they do not have much spare time and are not very likely to watch TV during the day. To access them, the trailer

should be therefore viewed in the evening and night.
