•Born in Denison, Texas, on October 14, 1890, Dwight David Eisenhower grew up in Abilene, Kansas, as the third of seven sons in a poor family.
•He was President from 1952-1960•He died on March 28, 1969, after a long
illness

• In 1956, Eisenhower created the Interstate Highway System, the single largest public works program in U.S. history, which would construct 41,000 miles of roads across the country
• He was a 4-Star Brigadier General in the Army• He led as a soldier during WWII and helped end
the war in Europe
