This mural is the second mural painted by Simon Tan

in Chew Jetty, Penang. The mural depicted an old

lady laughing with her grandson on a wall of a

wooden house at the entrance of Chew Jetty.

Unlike the “Ah Kong & Ah Mah” mural which was

painted at the ground level, this mural was painted

DESCRIPTION OF THE

MURAL ART

This mural was based on a real photograph of a little

girl dressed in blue and pushing herself up with both

hands on the tables.

In the original photograph, the little girl has her

hands on the side of tables, but in the mural, she is

Communication- The artwork is done by the artist

from different culture , there was no

any dominant cultural

5. Subjective perception

- constructed meaning of the

physical world

- Many peoples think that is the

"scariest" of the murals as the little

girl doesn't seem to be smiling, or

perhaps she's so large, or perhaps

it's due to her hair over her eye

4. Selective perception-Some people think it is a scary as the

mural art as her hair covered her eyes

- They ignore the information that the girl

is concentrated in her kung fu

Communication- : The art is telling others the girl is

practicing her Kongfu’s move by her

dressed and move.

2. Intercultural

communication- The girl inside the art is practicing

the kongfu’s move . The artist is

trying to show the culture of others

races even he is not a chinese . .
