A collage of Greece

We live in Greece. Our country is one of the most historical places on Earth. It has lots of natural attractions ,uncountable important historical monuments and museums.

Good weather , great History and many beautiful islands with clear, sandy beaches make Greece one of the most popular touristic destinations.

Athens

The capital of Greece is Athens.

The Parthenon

The city is well  known for the numerous important historical monuments like The Acropolis and The Parthenon which stand in the same position for thousands of years  and it is one of the Seven wonders of the World

Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was built to house every artifact found on the rock and on the surrounding slopes, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. It also lies over the ruins of a part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens.

Welcome to our city Melissia

Not far from the historical centre of Athens, there is our home town, Melissia. It is a northern suburb of Athens. The town is very beautiful and peaceful.

The Five Arches Bridge

The Five Arches Bridge is a historical monument of our town. It was built in the 19th century under the commission of a noble woman from France who fell in love with the place and built her country house in the nearby town of Pendeli. The bridge is made of white marble and it has five arches.

The Springs Of Afrodite

The Springs Of Afrodite is an important ecosystem here in Melissia. Many birds and small animals like turtles, frogs and crabs live here. It is a place ideal for jogging or just waking and the sound of water is very relaxing.

Playground

There are three playgrounds in our school (two of them can be used as basketball courts). There the kids are free to play, run and do whatever they want under of course their teachers’ supervision

Teachers’ Office

The teachers’ office is quite comfortable, full off desks and chairs where teachers have a rest during the breaks .It is also the place where all teachers meet to talk over the various issues that may come up during the school year.

Corridors

Here you can see the “Erasmus” corner where kids present their work. (paintings, photos, information etc). In this way everyone can be informed and get a first idea of the aims of the “Erasmus” project.

Ceremony Hall

Here is the ceremony hall where all the national celebrations and theatrical performances are held. When the weather conditions are bad it can be used as a gym and it provides all the necessary equipment.

Library

Our school library provides kids with a great number of books to choose ( literature, poetry, science fiction, fairy tales, detective stories).

Computer class

Here is the computer class. Following the instructions of the teacher children use computers in order to learn the computer science.

Music Class

Here is the music class. Children can practice various musical instruments following their music teacher’s instructors. They also learn how to use their voice in the right way so to be able as to sing a wide range of songs

Class for kids with special learning difficulties

This class is fully equipped and designed in such a way that becomes a pleasant place for kids with learning difficulties to learn and participate using different learning techniques
